ChurchCommunicationsPro.com WELCOME This is really the re-inaugural edition for the CCP Email Newsletter, since I've switched email services. Thanks so much for subscribing to my email newsletter. The promise/incentive was: Get advanced stuff. So as a thank you, I'm giving all my subscribers a free downloadable report from the Blogging 101 series titled "Advice to Blogging Pastors: Collected Wisdom from 50-Plus Blogging Believers." Just in case that link doesn't show up, here it is: http://www.churchcommunicationspro.com/emailnewsletter/110206/collected_wisdom.html There's also a handy printable PDF too if you want it at: http://www.churchcommunicationspro.com/emailnewsletter/110206/collectedwisdom_ebook.pdf I want to encourage you all to email me with questions, post ideas, etc. at corymiller303@gmail.com. And also to forward this email on to others you think might benefit from it. My intention is to provide churches and ministries with practical help on using communications strategies effectively in their contexts. I won't know how to serve you unless you tell me! Otherwise I'm just guessing. All the best! For the Gospel! For God's glory! Yours, --Cory
*** BUILDING ROCKIN' CHURCH WEB SITES SERIES This is the next series coming soon to ChurchCommunicationsPro.com. I've been in contact with eight rockin' Web design firms that have done excellent work for churches. My goal for this series is to give practical information for how churches of any size can go from 0 to 60 with their Web sites -- or from scratch to rockin' ... Here's just a sampling of same of the questions I'm asking the Web firms: 1. What are the basic steps to designing a church site? From nothing to going "live." For example, if I wanted to use your services, how would you guide me through the design process? 2. Do you have a creative questionnaire that you would be willing to share? Or some form that clients complete or you talk them through? 3. Realistically, how much should a church expect to pay for a top-quality Web site? 4. What advice do you have for smaller churches who may not have the resources to pay for a full-fledge site design? 5. What purpose should Web sites accomplish for churches? 6. What trends (for good or bad) do you see in church web site design? 7. What one (or more) Internet technology do you wish more churches would take advantage of? 8. What are a few basic search engine optimization techniques you would suggest churches do? 9. How should a church evaluate a prospective web site design firm or designer? 10. Any resources, sites, links, magazines, or articles that you'd point churches to? I want to give a special shout-out to Kent at Bombay Creative for being the first to respond with answers. I'm REALLY excited to share all the insights I get with CCP readers. Also, if you have questions or issues you'd like me to raise in the series, let me know. Thanks!
