OKC Crossings Community Church’s New Member Class Survey
Crossing Community Church is almost located out our church’s backdoor in Oklahoma City. They are a dynamic church with a great eye for church communications and marketing.
I had the privilege of meeting their director of internal communications, Jennifer Ayotte, recently at what I had to be the first of many Oklahoma City Church Communications lunches. Anyway … during the meeting she mentioned the short survey they do in their new members class, or their pastor’s class.
She has given me permission to post it for you all to see, use, etc.

Nominate Your Favorite Websites, Blogs for Pastors
In conjunction with Rick Warren’s Ministry Toolbox, we’re asking what the best (or favorite) websites are out there for pastors.
CLICK HERE TO NOMINATE A WEBSITE OR BLOG
Nominate as many sites as you want (including this one!) but the deadline for entries is Feb. 28 … we’re looking specifically for these categories, but it’s not limited to these either: Preaching/Sermon Helps, Leadership/Ministry, Personal, Blog, Theology, and Just for Fun.
The fine folks at the Toolbox will be releasing the top 10 or so once the survey is done. (Remember: Deadline for entris is Feb. 28 — the end of this month)
Oh, and we’re still compiling the results of the 2007 Christian Bloggers Survey. We’ll be releasing those next week through the Toolbox email newsletter and also on this blog, so stay tuned.

Reviewing 12 Free Web Poll & Survey Services, Plus Working Examples
Blogs by design are meant to be dynamic and highly interactive. The author posts stories on a regular basis and the content of these posts could vary across a variety of topics. The visitor to that blog has the opportunity to add their own content to the site in the way of comments about what the author has written. Soon a conversation begins between the author and the readers.
One easy way to get the conversation started is with the use of a poll. Polls provide a way for a visitor to interact with the site without actually leaving a detailed comment. Visitors can also get a sense of how your community of readers feels about a particular topic by viewing the results of the poll.
As an author, polls provide a “sticky sauce” to help keep visitors on the site reading and interacting with your content. By featuring a “Poll of the Month”, your readers will return to see what the new poll is and to read about the results of the previous poll.
San Diego Church Conducts a Missional Survey
Drew Goodmanson has posted information about their recent “church missional survey” implemented at Kaleo Church in San Diego. Here’s some background on the survey from Drew:
“For the sake of the gospel advancing, the elders at Kaleo wanted to examine how missional our Sunday services are and the people who attend. We sent out a request to people in our church to fill out a 20-question survey asking them about the preaching, hospitality, worship and many other elements of our sunday service. We want to (1) learn what people felt about the missional nature of our church and (2) see what fears and hindrances keep them from inviting others to Sundays.”
Here’s the survey they used.
Here’s the results report (PDF).
