YouVersion Interactive Bible Community Launches

YouVersion, an “online Bible that enables community and collaboration like never before,” has officially launched.

I’ve not surfed around much (just created my account), but I saw that one of my favorite Bible versions is used — the English Standard Version.

Here is a description from the site of what YouVersion is all about:

Every now and then (and increasingly) I get requests by church business administrators or pastors looking for a job description for a communications director.

As evidenced by the growing attendance at MinistryCOM and with big churches just getting even bigger, churches and pastors are recognizing the need for this vital role …

So, I’d like to create a resource page here with job descriptions that those looking to develop this position can download, print them off and customize it for their unique needs.

Here’s what I’d like you to do … send me a Word document with your job description (and include permission to do so) and I’ll create a page here for them all to be downloaded in one handy place. DeVine on the Emerging Church and Southern Baptists

Dr. Mark DeVine, one of my great friends and my professor at Midwestern, has posted an article he’s publishing soon in the Missouri Pathway.

Dr. DeVine is one of the leading voices in this conversation or debate (choose your word, but it’s a matter of perspective I think). He’s being asked to speak on the subject because, I believe, he’s taken a close, balanced, and discerning look at the whole topic.

I always appreciate and admire his perspective on things and am simply glad for having known him while I was at Midwestern.
