One Reason I Love Blogging: Free Coffee!
There are some days that I absolutely hate blogging and want to shut this site down and crawl in a hole and die, or better yet … learn to play golf or something more frustrating and seriously hate life.
But then … there are days like today when I get to meet a CCP reader and fellow blogger and church communications director … and get encouraged … and network … and, yes, get a free Starbucks Cafe Americano in the process!
OK, there’s a story …
So on Wednesday, I throw up a quick post with just links and mention I’m traveling to Kansas City … and on Friday I get an email from Kirk Longhofer saying, “Hey, if you’re coming through Wichita, give me a call.”
So on our way back to Oklahoma City, we meet up with Kirk over coffee at Starbucks in Wichita and just have a thoroughly awesome conversation. I’ve made a new pal that is now not just a virtual pal, but a real pal … like, I’ve shook his hand and had real coffee with him … in person!
THIS IS WHY I LOVE BLOGGING!
In an ordinary, normal, non-web world, I may have never crossed paths with Kirk … but because of this awesome web technology (and my willingness to lose sleep the past 7 months), we get to network, talk “church marketing” and expand our ministry exposure.
I hope to meet many more of you! And hey, I just might have to make my travel plans a little more open so I can meet more of you!
And of course, if you’re coming through Oklahoma City … give me some notice and we can chat over coffee too!
So, here’s my public thanks to Kirk of Technopraxis … thanks for the coffee, for being an encouragement to me, and the great conversation!
