OKC Crossings Community Church’s New Member Class Survey
Crossing Community Church is almost located out our church’s backdoor in Oklahoma City. They are a dynamic church with a great eye for church communications and marketing.
I had the privilege of meeting their director of internal communications, Jennifer Ayotte, recently at what I had to be the first of many Oklahoma City Church Communications lunches. Anyway … during the meeting she mentioned the short survey they do in their new members class, or their pastor’s class.
She has given me permission to post it for you all to see, use, etc.
Here’s the PDF.
Here’s the Word doc.
A Small Church Pastor’s 5 Reasons for Using WordPress on Their Church Website
This is a guest post written by Micah Fries
As a pastor of a small church who feels like they are slightly more adept at handling technology than the average pastor, I still recognize that there is an enormous gap between what I am comfortable dealing with and what is available in the world of technology, particularly as it relates to the setting of the local church.
If I, who utilizes technology fairly often, find it to often be confusing I can only imagine that it must be almost dizzying for most church leaders, particularly leaders in small churches who often feel technologically inadequate.
So today I want to take just a few minutes and share some personal motivations for using WordPress as our church’s website management system. I hope that if you are a pastor a small church and/or ministry, these reasons will help motivate you to choose WordPress for you website needs.

Rockin’ Church Website: John Piper’s Bethlehem Baptist’s New Redesign
Check out John Piper’s Bethlehem Baptist’s new church website redesign. …
I’m really fond of their church logo. The colors on the site are calming, pleasing to the eye. And I love their domain name: http://HopeInGod.org

- StumbleUpon is an insanely fun tour guide of some great sites. It’s also a great time waster. But I’ve really enjoyed stumbling unto sites. Someone “stumbled” my Rockin Cool Website Design site a couple days ago and I enjoyed a nice little bump in traffic as a result.

Start Making Your Plans for MinistryCOM 2007 in Nashville Sept. 13-14
As far as I’m concerned MinistryCOM is THE church communications and marketing conference … although I confess, I’ve never been.
BUT … this is my number conference priority this year and I am going!
Terrell Sanders of Main Street has graciously put on this conference for a couple years now. He lives and works in Edmond/OKC and also is a deacon at the church next door to where I serve. And a couple weeks ago, we got to have lunch together.
I’ll say this … Terrell’s reputation proceeds him. And it’s a great reputation. He has the respect and admiration of a lot of “pros” in the church marketing world. So I was already biased, but he’s an unassuming, humble guy who does this as a public service to churches.
Back to MinistryCOM … there’s some awesome speakers on the platform, along with some excellent breakout sessions. But the biggest thing in my opinion is networking.
So if you’re planning on going, let me know in the comments to this post! Because I haven’t been before, I really don’t know what to expect as far as time … but I’d love to have a dinner with CCP readers or just anybody that wants to meet up.
One more thing … help get the word out about MinistryCOM. Consider a link to the main site, send an email to a colleague or friend who needs to go, etc. In fact, Terrell gave me a badge, so steal the one on this post (upload to your own site though) and post it.
