17 Church Marketing Ideas for 2007

Here are some church marketing ideas to think about for the New Year:

1. Give away a free booklet

2. Create a specially-themed Website

3. Start a blog

4. Brand your sermon series

5. Start an email newsletter

6. Send out a direct mail postcard

7. Give an award - Pick a worthy policeman or firefighter from your community and honor them with a weekend getaway vacation and nice award.

8. Attend a church marketing conference

9. Invest in a quality logo design

10. Implement a community survey - Or just review your city’s Census demographics to see who’s your neighbors.

11. Implement a congregational survey

12. Offer your facilities for free to schools and community activities

13. Start a guest welcome center - Stock it full of good materials and friendly, loving people.

14. Find a guest shopper - Ask the corner convenience store clerk or a neighbor to drop by your Sunday service and tell you what he/she sees. Thank them a gift certificate to a dinner or better yet, take them out after church!

15. Do something different and “outside the box” - Change up your routine, don’t just do the standard stuff you and every other church does each year. Find a different way to do the same thing from a different perspective.
