Blogging Tip: Get Exposure by Guest Posting
ByOne of the best ways to launch a new blog is by offering to post at other blogs.
That’s one of the ways I launched this blog. Kevin at CMS was gracious enough to let me post my 8 Lessons Learned from MySecret.tv. (Thanks, Kevin! Learn how to support CMS here.)
In exchange for offering exclusive content (my post), I got a short bio and link. And it was well worth it!
So, today’s tip is … find influential blogs on your topic, see if they are looking for guest contributors, and offer a great post. (And I mean a good one!)
Guest posting does two things: (1) it puts you on their radar screen and they are more likely to follow your blog and link to you (I know this from experience!) and (2) you get inbound traffic from them as their readers look to see what you’re all about.
By the way, I’m looking for guest contributors here too! If you’ve got a top 5-10 list, or blogging advice, or anything relevant to church marketing and church communications strategies, like branding, advertising, etc., send me an email. I’m looking for guest contributors for next week while I’m skiing in New Mexico with my bride!
Here’s what you get in return … a short bio, link to your blog/website in the post and of course exposure!
