Brad Hinman is a part-time multimedia director for St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Joplin, Mo. [Been through there a bunch of times, Brad!] He blogs at Churchonomics.
Here’s his answers:
1. Why (or how) did you start blogging?
I started blogging to share my passion for innovative ministry with others and to do what I could to encourage church leaders to think and minister in new ways.
2. What subject do you post most about?
For the most part, Churchonomics is about ideas, resources and churches that have an innovative style.
3. What are your favorite blog tools?
I haven’t really tried a variety of blog tools, but here’s what I use frequently. Joomla, Google Analytics, Technorati, ClustrMaps, Feedburner, Bloglines, FeedBlitz, cPanel.
4. How often do you post?
In the beginning, I posted at least 4 or 5 times a week. For the last couple of months, it has been once a week.
5. What one piece of advice would you give for prospective blogging pastors?
My advice would be to keep each post fairly short and to stay focused on your particular niche. If your blog is focused on a particular topic, I think this approach works well.
