5 Blogging Questions with Jon Edmiston
Read all the previous posts in the Blogging 101 for Pastors series, including 5 Questions responders.
Jon Edmiston is director of communications at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Ariz. He blogs at As Far As I Can Tell. Here’s his answers:
1. Why (or how) did you start blogging?
Just wanted to share what’s going on here at CCV in a hope that it might help others.
2. What subject do you post most about?
That’s a trick for me as I cover both IT and Communications. Two topics that rarely mix. I just mix them anyways …
3. What are your favorite blog tools?
As far as blogging tools, I like Blogger and Typepad (Typepad [is] best if you have the $). As far as readers I use Bloglines. Google’s new Reader sounds tempting, but the thought of resetting everything up kills me …
4. How often do you post?
Not often enough! My goal is once a week, but I’m failing right now.
5. What one piece of advice would you give for prospective blogging pastors?
Start now … post when you can … don’t make it always about you point to others who are doing it right … and my secret pet peeve: don’t just talk about what’s wrong or how to fix things, actually do it.
