5 Blogging Questions with Granger’s Tony Morgan

As part of the “Blogging 101 for Pastors” series [click here to see all the posts], I’ve been asking several proflic blogging pastors or believers to answer five basic questions about blogging.

Granger Community Church’s Tony Morgan aka “one of the simply strategic guys” took some time to answer my 5 Blogging Questions.

I love Tony’s work and blog and contribution to innovation in the local church. Along with Tim Stevens, he is the co-author of Simply Strategic Growth, Simply Strategic Volunteers, and Simply Strategic Stuff.

Here goes:

1. Why (or how) did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I love to learn, write and encourage/challenge others. I keep blogging because of the relationships that have developed. In other words, I know cool people because I blog.

2. What subject do you post most about?

Strategic leadership in the church. I’m all about discovering new ways for the church to have a bigger impact in today’s culture. I also like to post about hotel soap. Generally speaking, I think hotels should have bigger soap.

3. What are your favorite blog tools?

TypePad, FeedBurner, StatCounter, Bloglines, Technorati

4. How often do you post?

Almost daily and frequently more than once a day. A lot of my posting happens in the morning before I shower. I apologize for not applying hair product before I post.

5. What one piece of advice would you give for prospective blogging pastors?

Brevity is your friend. It’s better to write short posts more often. Give. Me. One. Idea.
